Trauma Therapy

Trauma can happen to anyone, at any age. Trauma can affect the way we think, feel, respond to stress and connect with ourselves and others. Sometimes it can leave you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected or stuck in patterns that are hard to understand or change.

In trauma-focused therapy, I provide a supportive and compassionate space where children, teens and adults can explore difficult experiences at a pace that feels comfortable and safe. Together, we work to better understand emotional reactions, build healthy coping skills and create a sense of balance and safety.

Healing is not about reliving the past or forcing yourself to “move on.” It’s about making sense of your experiences, feeling supported through the process and learning how to feel more connected, grounded and empowered moving forward.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a gentle, research-supported therapy that helps people heal from trauma, overwhelming experiences and painful memories. When something distressing happens, it can sometimes feel “stuck” in the brain. EMDR helps your brain process those experiences in a healthier way so they no longer feel as intense or disruptive.

EMDR can be helpful for children, teens and adults. With younger clients, I often weave EMDR into creative and play-based activities so the process feels safe, supportive and developmentally appropriate. For teens and adults, EMDR can reduce anxiety, depression, intrusive memories and other lingering effects of trauma.

The process is collaborative and always paced to your comfort level. You are in control. Together, we work toward helping you feel lighter, more grounded and more confident in moving forward.

EMDR may be right for you if you are:

  • You are struggling with the effects of trauma, distressing memories or overwhelming life experiences.

  • Anxiety, depression or intrusive thoughts are interfering with daily life.

  • You want a structured, evidence-based approach to process difficult emotions safely.

  • You’re looking for healing that goes beyond talk therapy, helping your brain reframe past experiences.
